Why Donate to Freedom Charity? Help Protect Children Before Harm Becomes Irreversible
Why donate to Freedom Charity?
Why donate to Freedom Charity? Because some children are too frightened to ask for help.
Many fear being taken abroad and forced into marriage. Others face female genital mutilation, coercive control or threats made in the name of family reputation. In those situations, silence can become part of the danger.
Freedom Charity works to protect children and survivors from forced marriage, female genital mutilation, dishonour abuse, coercive control and child abuse before harm becomes irreversible.
Crucially, this work depends on donations and grants. With public support, we can continue school education, safeguarding resources, awareness work, books, the Freedom app and practical support that help children and survivors find a route to safety.

What does Freedom Charity do?
Freedom Charity is a UK safeguarding charity working to prevent forced marriage, female genital mutilation, dishonour abuse, coercive control and related abuse through education, prevention, awareness campaigns, school resources and practical support.
Alongside school awareness, our work includes PSHE-accredited resources, safeguarding books, the Freedom app, helpline routes, survivor support, public campaigns and professional training.
No child should be cut.
No teenager should be forced to marry.
Every young person deserves a childhood free from abuse.
How your donation helps protect children
Your donation can help fund school safeguarding education, PSHE-accredited resources, safeguarding books, the Freedom app, awareness campaigns, helpline routes, FGM prevention work, forced marriage prevention work and practical support for survivors.
In practical terms, a donation can place the right information in front of a child, teacher, parent or professional at the moment it matters most. As a result, a child may hear that abuse is not their fault and that help exists.
Why prevention matters
Prevention must happen before the airport, before the ceremony, before the cutting and before the crisis.
After a child has been forced into marriage, taken abroad, cut or trapped by coercive control, the harm can be lifelong. Therefore, Freedom Charity’s work is built around early action.
We want children to recognise abuse sooner. We also want schools to spot warning signs earlier. Above all, professionals need to understand risk before it escalates.
Prevention is not soft work. It is child protection.
Why schools matter
Schools are often the safest place for a child to disclose.
For that reason, school education is central to Freedom Charity’s work. Books, assemblies, PSHE resources and awareness campaigns can give children the courage to speak. At the same time, they give teachers the confidence to act.
A safeguarding lesson may be the first time a child realises that what is happening to them is not normal, not their fault and not something they must face alone.

Why companies should donate
Corporate donations to Freedom Charity support practical child protection, safeguarding education and prevention.
For companies, this is a clear statement of values. Children should be safe. Girls must be protected from FGM. No child should be forced into marriage. Abuse should never be excused as culture, tradition or family duty.
Through corporate support, Freedom Charity can fund school resources, awareness campaigns, educational materials, safeguarding work and wider public education.
Ways to give to Freedom Charity
You can support Freedom Charity through a one-off donation, monthly giving, bank transfer, text donation, corporate support, workplace giving, fundraising, school fundraising, sponsored events, funeral collections, our shop, Give as you Live or a gift in your will.
Monthly donations are especially valuable because they help us plan prevention work throughout the year.
In addition, a legacy gift can protect children long into the future. However large or small, a gift in your will says that children should grow up free from abuse, fear and coercion.
Donate to Freedom Charity today
Freedom Charity cannot do this work without donations and grants.
Childhood should not be stolen. Forced marriage is abuse. FGM is child abuse. Silence protects perpetrators, not children. Most importantly, prevention saves futures.
