Accessibility

Freedom Charity wants everyone to be able to use this website and access our information, support and services.

We are working towards meeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at AA level. Accessibility is an ongoing responsibility, so we review the website as content, forms and services change.

Using this website

You should be able to zoom in without losing important content, move around the website using a keyboard, use a screen reader or other assistive technology, and understand links, headings and forms clearly.

Most modern browsers also allow you to increase text size, change zoom, use high-contrast settings and reduce motion. The Freedom Charity website respects reduced-motion preferences where these are supported.

What we are checking

Our accessibility work includes colour contrast, keyboard navigation, visible keyboard focus, heading structure, alternative text for meaningful images, clear link wording, form labels, mobile navigation and compatibility with assistive technology.

Automated testing is useful but cannot prove that a website is fully accessible. We are therefore reviewing important journeys across the site, including pages about getting help, forced marriage, female genital mutilation (FGM), Dishonour Abuse, schools and training, donations and contacting Freedom Charity.

Third-party services

Some parts of the website may use services supplied by other organisations, for example payment, donation, video or form technology. We aim to choose and configure these responsibly, but some accessibility features may depend on the third-party provider.

If you have difficulty using the site

If you cannot access information or complete something on this website, please contact Freedom Charity and tell us which page or service caused the problem and what assistance you need. We will try to provide the information in an accessible way and use your feedback to improve the site.

If you are looking for support relating to forced marriage, FGM or abuse, please use our Get help and helpline information.

Accessibility review

This statement was prepared on 8 October 2026. The website is being reviewed against WCAG 2.2 AA and this page will be updated as that work progresses.
