Governance & Due Diligence
Freedom Charity is a registered charity in England and Wales, charity number 1139657.
We welcome questions from trusts, foundations, major donors and corporate partners considering substantial support. We want funders to understand how the charity is governed, how money is managed, how safeguarding is overseen and how we report what our work achieves.
Governance
Freedom Charity is overseen by its Board of Trustees. The trustees are collectively responsible for the charity’s governance, finances, safeguarding, risk and legal duties.
The Charity Commission register provides Freedom’s official registration details, trustee information and filed financial information.
Evidence
Freedom separates reach, activity, outcomes and impact. Figures such as books distributed or App downloads show reach. We do not present them as proof that harm has been prevented unless separate evidence supports that conclusion.

Substantial funding
A substantial grant or donation is considered against a clear proposal rather than treated as ordinary income. Depending on the funding, that can include the work to be supported, full costs, staffing and delivery capacity, safeguarding, timetable, risks, measures and reporting.
Restricted funding is recorded and used for the agreed charitable purpose.
Policies and records
Freedom maintains governance, safeguarding, financial and data-protection controls appropriate to its work. Public policies and records are published where useful. Further governance information can be supplied to serious prospective funders where appropriate.
Some information is kept private because it contains personal, safeguarding, security-sensitive or commercially sensitive information. This can include detailed internal registers, current management figures and programme costings.
